I’m an experienced IT Professional managing secondary school IT based in the South West. In this role I lead on delivering managed IT solutions for the school & oversee the IT Support Service Desk for 1400 users & 800 devices.

I have a can do attitude and track record for delivering rapid IT transformation. I have high standards and I’m very passionate about delivering modern IT Solutions.

Experience

Network Manager, Secondary School
August 18 – Present

  • Transformed & improved every aspect of the school IT Environment.
  • Reduced 13x Hyper-V nodes down to a 2 node Microsoft Failover Cluster.
  • Introduced a 10GbE network and Dell PowerVault storage array creating a solid backbone for the VSI.
  • Migrated 1400 user mailboxes and Exchange services to Exchange Online.
  • Upgraded all VMs from Windows Server 2012 R2 to Windows Server 2019 and then Windows Server 2022.
  • Introduced Cisco Meraki WIFI for the entire site, replacing c120 HP Procurve access points.
  • Oversaw and delivered the migration to Windows 10 from Windows 7.
  • Introduced an SSTP VPN for remote access.
  • Introduced Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager/SCCM.
  • Managed the IT Service Desk for a 1400 customer base.

Network Manager, Secondary School
March 14 – August 18

  • Provided 3rd line support and managed the IT infrastructure for the school.
  • Delivered and managed the Virtual Server Infrastructure, overseeing the migration from Microsoft Hyper-V to VMware vSphere.
  • Introduced a VMware Horizon View VDI for remote desktop access.
  • Upgraded all VMs from Windows Server 2008 R2 to Windows Server 2012 and then Windows Server 2016.
  • Migrated 1600 user mailboxes and all Exchange 2013 services to Exchange Online.
  • Oversaw and delivered the migration to Windows 10 from Windows 7.
  • Sourced and implemented 300 new desktop PCs.
  • Managed the IT Service Desk for a 1600 customer base.

IT Support Technician, Secondary School
August 12 – March 14

  • Provided 1st & 2nd line IT support to 1600 users & 800 devices.
  • Introduced a 3 tier SharePoint 2010 solution which transformed the virtual learning environment for staff & students. After successful implementation, I introduced a second SharePoint site collection which was the beginning of a highly used Parent-Portal.
